Kundalini Yoga and Dementia Workshop
September 27 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
This workshop will tell you everything you need to know about how to run Kundalini Yoga based Activities for people with dementia. Many of us have witnessed first hand the suffering that dementia causes through the experience of our friends or family. It is a growing problem in the UK and one without the needed resources to provide quality of life for many who have it. Services that address the spiritual life of people with dementia are particularly rare.
As Kundalini Yogis we know how share many wonderful things, and yet often feel totally deskilled when it comes to using our knowledge to help. But it is possible to do so, even with those in the later stages of dementia. Not only is it possible, but it is fun and easy. We just need to change the way (and the level) at which we engage.
This one day workshop for Kundalini Yoga teachers, based on GRDP’s experience of running classes for people with late stage dementia, will give you the confidence and the tools to do it. We will cover: ‘what is dementia?’, ‘ a brief summary of Yogi Bhajan’s philosophy of Therapeutic Yoga’, ‘how to engage participants’, ‘what to teach’, ‘approaching organisations and setting up classes’.
If you would like us to come and run this workshop where you are, please get in touch.
